Frontline health workers such as Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs) and Anganwadi Sevika are the first point of contact between the health system and the community.

In the year 2025–26 period, Prayas studied the heat-health preparedness of these frontline workers from Pune city to help them cope with the health impacts of extreme heat. The study revealed knowledge gaps, and it also highlighted their own vulnerability to heat.

To address the needs, this edu-aid was created by Prayas as a quick-reference resource for front line workers.

It provides guidance on:

1) Heat adaptive behaviours such as hydration, protection from heat

2) Management of mild to moderate heat-related illnesses

3) Early recognition of heatstroke and first aid

4) Self-care during summer
