Cervical cancer kills one woman every eight minutes in India. This is in spite of it being a preventable cancer. There are two effective strategies to prevent cervical cancer: HPV vaccination of adolescent girls and cervical cancer screening of adult women. However, there is not much awareness about the prevention of cervical cancer in our community. In India, less than 5% of women get screened for cervical cancer, and the number of girls getting vaccinated is even lesser. We conduct awareness programs and arrange cervical cancer screening camps in the community. So far, we have conducted several cervical cancer screening camps, screened more than 35,000 women, and provided appropriate treatment of precancers when needed. Cervical cancer prevention is possible, and it must be done! We are committed to preventing cervical cancer. We need your support in order to achieve this goal.
