Majority of the studies on acceptability of vaginal microbicides in India have evaluated acceptability among low risk clinical trial participants. It is also important to understand the opinion and willingness of women living in the discordant couple setting who are likely to be the potential users of vaginal microbicides.

Objective:

The objective of the research was to evaluate knowledge and willingness to use vaginal microbicides among women living in the discordant couple setting. Women living in discordant couple setting means either the women or her sexual partner (here husband) is infected with HIV.
