This evidence summary summarises systematic review-level evidence evaluating the effectiveness of Behavioural Change Communication (BCC) interventions for improving antenatal care (ANC) indicators, specific to low and middle-income country (LMIC) settings. This evidence summary finds that increasing community participation, raising awareness about local populations͛ health care rights and delivering interventions in home and/or community settings are effective ways to increase ANC coverage and uptake. At the delivery level, mobile health (mHealth) is a promising intervention.
